About Me

I help educators move beyond using AI to understanding it.

I’m an educator and researcher passionate about helping teachers navigate artificial intelligence with confidence, critical thinking, and ethical awareness. My approach goes beyond teaching AI tools. I help educators understand how AI works, question its outputs, recognise its limitations, and make informed decisions about when and how to use it.

My journey began with nine years of teaching English language and literature at the University of Sindh in Pakistan, where I taught undergraduate students, supervised research projects, and contributed to academic publications. This experience shaped my belief that education should do more than deliver knowledge. It should empower people to think independently, ask better questions, and make informed decisions.

I later moved to Finland to pursue my MA in Education at Åbo Akademi University, where I explored a question increasingly relevant to educators worldwide: How do teacher educators experience and navigate university policies on generative AI?

My master’s thesis, Understanding Teacher Educators’ Perceptions and Experiences of University Generative AI Policy, examined the relationship between institutional AI policies and the lived experiences of those responsible for preparing future teachers. It deepened my understanding of a critical challenge: having an AI policy is one thing; helping educators translate it into thoughtful, responsible practice is another.

Today, this question sits at the heart of my work.

How can we prepare educators not merely to use AI, but to understand it, question it critically, and shape how it is used in education and society?

I believe AI literacy should not be reserved for technology specialists. Every teacher deserves the knowledge and confidence to engage with AI thoughtfully. Every learner deserves the skills to question AI-generated information. And every community deserves a voice in decisions about technologies that increasingly shape our lives.

Through AI literacy and ethics training, I aim to bridge the gap between understanding AI and using it responsibly, helping educators approach this changing landscape with curiosity, creativity, and sound judgment.

Because the goal isn’t simply to help teachers keep up with AI. It’s to help them make informed choices about the kind of future education should create.
